Choices for your sash windows:
New Sash Frames (in existing boxes)
If you have existing sash windows you can get new sash frames made and re-hung in the boxes. These frames can be single or double glazed. The glass in the double glazed frames is toughened and thermally efficient as well as proving a significant noise reduction. All frames are spray painted and we supply new furniture as standard. New frames in existing boxes is a popular choice as we match the same horn and design as the existing windows.
New Boxes
Perhaps you have PVC casements or old timber casements. We can make new timber framed boxes with new sash frames balanced on springs. All boxes are spray painted and comes with draught proof staff and parting bead new double-glazed sash frames and furniture.
Draught-Proofing
As windows age the sashes may begin to sit awkwardly in the frame. This creates gaps around the perimeter which causes draughts and possible dust ingress. To improve performance we are able to install full weather stripping which ensures your windows operate more efficiently without altering the appearance of your window.
Repair/restoration
We remove old sash frames, belt-sand them and plane the edges for ease of movement, fix and repair any rot, strengthen the frames and re-balance the frames back in the boxes with new draught-proofing beading, cords and furniture.
Security
We fit extra security lockable sash fasteners for your sashes. We also fit Weekes End stops that allow the window to be left slightly ajar. The lock is placed on the side of the box, about 100mm above the mid-rail. When in place it prevents the sashes sliding past each other yet allows the window to remain open for ventilation.
Other joinery works
We also make sash shutters and, as accomplished joiners, we are versatile in all other types of carpentry you may require.
