thermal insulation
SOME BENEFITS OF USING OUR DOUBLE GLAZED, TIMBER FRAMED SLIDING SASH WINDOWS.
To get a better idea of how much you could save by replacing your windows, use the Energy Saving Calculator on the Glass and Glazing Federation’s website, developed in conjuction with the Energy Saving Trust.
How energy-efficient glazing worksDouble-glazed windows have two sheets of glass with a gap in between, usually about 12 - 16mm, to create an insulating barrier that keeps heat in, this is filled with argon gas. Triple-glazed windows have four sheets of glass - it's double-glazing "doubled up".
- Reduced energy bills.
- Smaller carbon footprint - you're making difference to the planet.
- A more comfortable home: energy-efficient glazing reduces heat loss through windows and means fewer draughts and cold spots.
- Peace and quiet: as well as keeping the heat in, energy efficient-windows insulate your home against external noise.
- Reduced condensation: energy-efficient glazing reduces condensation build-up on the inside of windows.
- All units are Factory glazed with argon gas filled units soft coat energy saving glass and warm edge spacer bar to give 1.1W/m2K U-value

Heat loss through windows can be reduced by using double glazing.
Our double glazed windows have a vacuum between two panes of glass.
Air is a poor conductor of heat, while a vacuum can only transfer heat energy by radiation.

ELITE GLASS
In our windows we use Elite glass - 136% more thermal efficient than standard argon-filled double glazed units. The spacer bar - the strip in the middle of double-glazing - comes in a variety of colours, black is popular as it creates a 'shadow' gap making it hard to tell if the sashes have been double glazed.
